On International Women's Day March 8, 2024 three sisters took the 8 hour drive (and leap of faith) to North Carolina to buy the first of many cars in the NextGen Driving School fleet.
The name NextGen was not chosen by accident when the driving school was named. Kelcey, Julie, and Christy (A.K.A. "The Brennan Girls") worked for D.G. Driving School for 9, 7, and 4 years respectively and they all noticed a common theme when students would call or get in the car, a sigh of relief. Students would often tell the girls that they were so happy to see a fresh, new face and hear a positive, happy voice. At NextGen we strive to keep our lessons and drivers fresh with a positive outlook because, who wants a stressed out driving instructor?
Kelcey, Julie, and Christy all started as office managers at D.G. Driving School working under the LEGENDARY Doug Gardner. It was a small office in the original D.G., Dave Gardner's (Doug's Father) Garage. Everyone in the area knew who the Gardner Family was and everyone LOVED using D.G. Driving School for all of their driving needs. Needless to say, the girls learned from THE BEST!
In December 2023, Doug made the well deserved decision to retire and retire the D.G. name with him. Doug had become like a second father to the girls so, they were inspired to keep the family business going. NextGen Driving School was born!
